Local Chapter Only Rules

Definitions of terms or phrases which may be included in the LCO entries listed below.

  • The acronym FOIP stands for "Find Out In Play". The purpose of FOIP is to enhance gameplay by providing mystery and the feeling of discovery to players.

  • "Requires a trainer" means that the ability/skill/recipe/subclass can only be learned if taught by a NPC or Player in play. Training often requires time invested, BGAs (Between Gather Actions), and questing.

  • Expanded Crafting Playtest: The purpose of this play test is to expand upon production skills, create more noncombat character development options, and to provide more varied loot/rewards.

    • Cooking Skill: New production skill that costs five build per rank. Requires a trainer. Recipes are FOIP.

    • Crafting Materials: Mithril, Cold Iron, and Magic Stones are crafting materials that can be used to create items using the smithing skill. These materials can be found as loot or purchased from NPCs. Recipes and knowledge to craft with these materials are FOIP.

    • Alchemy: Coming soon!

  • Celestial magic base 10: Celestial Elemental spell damage is increased to 10 per spell level.

  • Advanced Training Playtest: The purpose of this playtest is to provide more options for players to further define their character's identity and skillset while enhancing roleplay. Each training option uses one or more of a player’s spirit slots (out of the five available spirit effect slots). More Advanced Training choices may be developed or “unlocked” through player action. Advanced Training cannot be removed from a player's spirit using Destroy Formal Magic or other typical means. Players may willingly give up their Advanced Training though there may be consequences.  FOIP. Requires a trainer.

    • Paragon Training: Paragon skills are organized by themes based on the four character classes but are not class restricted. These skills represent learning secret techniques.

    • Subclass Training: Subclasses are available to any player class. Most subclasses will have personal codes of behavior/ethics; failure to adhere to the subclass code will result in temporary or permanent loss of the subclass.

    • 1. Light Knight: Chivalrous individuals who seek to defend the weak and combat Necromancy.

    • 2. Dark Knight: Despises the weak and relies upon their code to obtain power.

    • 3. Ranger: Wardens of the Netherwilds who follow the Ranger Code which eschews wealth and political power. They seek to guide travelers and to preserve the flora and fauna of the Netherwilds.

    • 4. Druid: Masters of nature magic.

    • 5. Healer: Coming Soon!

  • Resurrection Circle at the Ducal Keep: Players who chose to resurrect at the Duchess' Keep shall not be required to draw a stone from the bag.

  • Knockback: A player affected by knockback places their hand or weapon above their head (to signal they are out of play), takes three steps back, kneels on the ground, and removes their hand/weapon from their head to signal they are back in play. This change was developed to prevent “juggling” of players; players cannot be knocked back again without first resolving the first knockback sequence.

  • Rewards for Monstering: 50 Gob and 5 Gold per hour of monstering. Rewards may double for monstering field battles.

  • Rewards for Tavern duty: 50 Gob and 5 Gold per hour of working in the Tavern.

  • Netherwilds Fungal Folk: A species of fungus that are only found in the Netherwilds. Players who wish to play this character race must adhere to costuming and roleplaying requirements.

  • Pets/Animal Companions: Pets are classified as items by the rules but do not use one of the player's five active item slots. A player may only carry one pet on their person at a time; however, a player may have as many pets in their cabin as they wish. A pet must be represented with a physical model and visible (e.g. not in a bag or pouch) if the player wishes to receive the benefits of the pet. Pets do not have stat blocks and therefore may not fight nor be attacked.

  • Uncharted Realms Items: Items marked with U.R.I. (URI) are owned by Uncharted Realms and may not be removed from site. URI must be returned to game staff at the end of event and will be returned to the player at the start of the next event. The physical representation marked with URI must be used to the represent the item stat card. Any player who "finds" a URI must take it to the Plot team to receive an item stat card; a player who loses a URI in-play must return the item stat card to the Plot team.
